Paul and Michele Metzgar

Board of Directors

Paul is a CPA, CGMA graduate of Penn State University who works as a controller for small to mid-size companies going through growth mode. Michele graduated from Dickinson College with her BS in Biology and Anthropology and her MPH from Drexel University. Her professional background includes research roles for nonprofits in the field of HIV, autoimmune disease and universal flu vaccine research.

Paul and Michele’s son, Shane, was diagnosed with stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma at 8 months old. He fought for 1 year and 2 days before he passed away in March 2015. Paul and Michele donated Shane’s tumors to cc-TDI for research. They created a foundation, Shane’s Future Days to raise awareness, research funds and assist families affected by ARMS and other high risk childhood cancers.

Their goal as members of cc-TDI Board of Directors is to lend their personal and professional experience to assist in supporting drug development that leads to future clinical trials, as well as encourage tumor donation from the childhood cancer community to further research in high risk childhood cancers.
