Our sincerest thanks to all of our supporters of the Thumbs Up For Lane Goodwin Childhood Cancer Foundation and to Stephanie Furtado for their support that made a $25,000 grant to cc-TDI possible:  this grant allows us to purchase a flow cytometry machine that works on the same multi-well plate format as our drug-plating robot.  The flow cytometry machine monitors how well our drugs stop tumor cell growth, and at the same time checks what receptors are on the tumor cell surface. This would, for instance, help point us to finding new drugs that could be used in a personalized way for children whose tumors have those receptors. This grant is in honor of Stephanie’s daughter Pheonix, who fought a very difficult battle against rhabdomyosarcoma.
